If you have been directed to this page, or one of the other nine web sites that mirror this site, I hope you will take
the time to read it. Most Companies, Physicians and Organizations believe in certain ethics when dealing with employees,
the public, and businesses. If this story happened to you, how would you feel? Even worse, if it happened to a family member,
your son or daughter, what would that make you feel like? Lastly, if you are searching for a place to work, please consider
this story. It happened on my second day there.

Hello, my name is Paul and
before you decide to risk your well being, and your future I would like you to read my experience with Youngquist Medical
and Innovative Medical Devices. I hope that it will help you not fall for the same lines and BS I did.
First and foremost, the people
who work there are very nice and I have absolutely nothing against them in any way. It is the owners of the company that are
the ones at fault here. I will explain my story.
I was employed to work for
Youngquist Medical / Innovative Medical Devises on June 8, 2006. I started work in what I thought would be a great company,
working for the legendary Youngquist Brothers. I was told that the Youngquist Brothers had big plans for the future, that
they were a family owned company who valued family, fairness and were great people to work for. I was happy to start the job
working in the newly formed Machine Shop located by the airport in Ft. Myers.
The first day went great.
They put me with a guy who was to train me on their machines and equipment. I followed his directions. I learned about a new
machine made by Zoller. It measures tools so that the machine can cut the metal correctly without needing a touch off. Everything
was fine. I spoke to some people there about the future of the company and how it was to work there. All replied positive.
I was so pleased with the job, I asked two of my former co-workers to come and apply. I asked the Shop Manager to make sure
it was okay, and it was. They came down on Friday. It was around 3 pm. They walked in and I introduced them to the Shop Manager.
He interviewed them right there.
I continued to work at this
time. I do not smoke and usually find it not necessary to take a break. The most break I take is to walk to the break room
and grab a soda out of the refrigerator. When my two former co-workers were done, I asked the guy who was training me if I
could take a break, this way I could personally thank them for coming and speak to one of them who had been able to work at
many Machine Shops in the area about others who might like to work there. Here in SW Florida keeping
a machine shop manned is very difficult. All the machine shops are always looking for people. I was just trying to do my part
to help my new employers. When I left that day, I was told that I would need to work on Sunday, this was to make sure the
machine continued to do it’s job. I was told to call on Saturday, to which I replied I would or just stop by as I only
live about 10 minutes away.

I went in on Saturday at
around 4 pm.
At that time, the Shop Manager told me that they wouldn’t be able to use me anymore. I first thought he was joking.
But no, he wasn’t. He explained because I was outside talking to my two former co-workers that the “owners”
had decided that I was unfit to be employed by them. I explained that I was on break, a break I had asked permission to take.
He said it didn’t matter, that was their decision. The Shop Manager apologized, and said it happened above his head,
he could do nothing. He also told me he felt I was needed. I asked if I could talk with them about it and he said yes that
was a good idea. He would have them give me a call on Monday. I told him I would rather speak to them in person, and left.
On Monday June 12, 2006 I went into the building at about 8:30 am.
I spoke with the gal sitting at the front desk. She told the shop manager I was there, and I also asked if Mr. Youngquist
was in. She replied that he was. I then asked if I could speak with him. She went back to get him. The Shop Manager came out
and met with me, and I explained I had left some things and wanted to pick them up, as well as I hoped to speak to Mr. Youngquist
as he and I had talked about. He replied that they made a decision, and did not wish to discuss it. I once again said what
I was doing out there as well as I was on a break, the only break I had asked to take since starting work at that company.
The Shop Manager replied that the owners talked about it and didn’t care if I was on a break, that they knew that I
had never been told that I should not go outside on breaks and that they had made a decision and it was final. I explained
to him that I wasn’t really happy about this situation, and I would like to speak to the person that actually made it.
I burned my bridges with another job to work here, so in reality I was screwed twice, not just once by the decision.
Bottom line is, I should
not have trusted the Youngquist Brothers to be a family oriented business that “cares” about family and their
employees. I bought into the BS and I am hoping that by putting up these sites I will stop others from buying into the same
BS and maybe not make the mistake I did. If you would like to talk to me about this, please give me a call at 239-368-1699.
